Technology

Information technologies are in constant transition. As major companies continually vie for dominant market share, we seem to be in a continual cycle of "the next big thing". The truth is that the last decade has spawned the most rapid changes in information technology ever, and it is a constant struggle to maintain pace with the changing technology landscape.

At Tekquest, we develop our client solutions using Adobe technologies. While we continue to believe that there is still no one shop stop for developing applications, we believe Adobe 'gets it'. With their recent acquisition of Macromedia, they are well positioned to lead the next evolution of the web.

Web Applications

Data-driven web sites which use dynamic HTML (DHTML), JavaScript, and other client technologies, to provide information to a user via the ubiquitous web browser. Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) are the next wave of internet application technologies, which use rich clients technologies such as Flash and AJAX to provide a user experience more akin to a desktop application, and surround much of the hype around 'Web 2.0'.

Web Services

Web services have been hailed by pundits and technology companies as the next generation of web applications. Web services are small components which exist to provide data and services to other applications operated by other organizations that request them, using Web protocols and data formats such as XML and SOAP. Web service subscribers do not need to know the internal workings of the service, they just request the service using acceptable protocols.
